Here are the highlights from the Welcome letter you should have received in July.

Dear Parents and Students,

I love teaching and working with kids!  This will be my 29th year of teaching. I’ve taught everything from 1st-6th grade in 3 different states. I received my Elementary Education degree from the University of Southern Colorado, now called CSU – Pueblo, and a Masters degree in Gifted and Talented Education from UNC.  I was born in Denver but grew up in Pueblo, CO. Then I moved to Las Vegas, NV, whereas an added bonus I met the love of my life, my husband, George. After we had our three girls, we moved to Galt, California. Finally, Parker, Colorado became our new home twelve years ago.

We have all kinds of fun and interesting things planned.  Our class will read, read, read and write, too. There will be math activities with a focus on problem-solving in everyday situations.  Science units will include systems of living things, geology, physical science, and scientific inquiry. In Social Studies we will focus on the western hemisphere, Mayas, Aztecs, and Incas, as well as, global topics such as economics, geography, and civics. Of course, the highlight of the year is the 3-day Outdoor Ed trip.

This year we will be attending Stone Canyon Edventures in Larkspur, October 31 - November 2. For those of you that like to plan ahead, here is a link to the packing information. This is the link to the online forms for Outdoor Ed. (Scroll down until you see Prairie Crossing in the oval.) You will register for Outdoor Ed in two places. The forms are on the Stone Canyon site, and the payment is listed with your fees in RevTrak.  You can do the registration now, but you can not pay the field trip fees until check-in opens.

Office hours are also posted on the PCE website at if you need assistance.

If you need to get in touch with me prior to the start of school on August 9th, feel free to email me at I look forward to working with you!
