Star Student Information

Dear Parents,

Please send the following items by Monday or Tuesday so your child can be our STAR of the week on Friday.

  1. Completed Star Poster-include pictures on the poster and have your child take time to color the poster.

  2. Show and Tell- 2-3 items that are special to your child (try to encourage your child to choose items that have some meaning rather than a collection of toys).

  3. Parent Letter- Please include a letter to the class telling us how special your child is to you.  Send the letter in a sealed envelope to school with you, and I will read the letter to the class.   The content of the letter is up to you, but you may want to choose from one of the following ideas:  a funny story about your child, write a poem about your child, or tell us some neat things we may not know about your child. The sky’s the limit.

  4. Estimation Jar - Brainstorm a possible list of non-food items.  The objects must be the same size.  Each child will receive one item from the estimation jar, and the child who guesses closest will win a few :-). The remaining items will go in our Treasure Box for WOW Board winners.

I am looking forward to getting to know your child more. If you have any questions, please contact me at tpayne@dcsdk12.org.
