Meet Emily Smith

My name is Emily Smith and I am excited to be the school counselor at Prairie Crossing this year! I have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a Master's Degree in School Counseling. This will be my 11th years as a school counselor. I spent the first part of my career as a High School counselor in the Littleton area, but most recently have been working at the K-8 levels at Douglas County charter school.

When I am not counseling, I enjoy baking, crafting, and spending time with my family. My husband and I have two incredible little boys ages 4 and 8. They keep our lives busy and our hearts full. We love traveling together and spending time outdoors enjoying the beautiful Colorado weather!

My approach to school school counseling is largely solution focused, and I strive to recognize the child as an active participant in the process of growth. My goal is to provide every PCE student with the tools they need to be happy, to find success, and to embrace the world around them.
