Golden Girl/Boy Information

Your child, __________________ will be our “Golden Boy/Girl” next week. Help us celebrate your child by helping him/her complete the poster and providing the items listed to our class on __________________ (all items will be returned to your child on Friday). Please include…

The completed poster - include pictures on the poster and have your child take the time to color the poster.

A favorite book – Your child or I will read the book to the class during our read-aloud time

2-3 items that are special to your child- (try to encourage your child to choose items that have some sort of meaning rather than just a collection of toys)

Parent letter-Please include a letter to the class telling us how special your child is to you. Send the letter in a sealed envelope to school with your child, and I will read the letter to the class. The content of the letter is up to you, but you may want to choose from one of the following ideas: a funny story about your child, write a poem about your child, tell us some neat things we may not know about your child or maybe even write a short story with your child as the main character. The sky’s the limit!

Estimation Jar- -Brainstorm a possible list of non-food items (at least 22 items)

-The “objects” in the jar must be the same.

-Send the items to school in a plastic bag. (I will have the jar at school.)

-Each child will receive one item from the estimation jar and the child who guesses closest will win the remaining items.

We are looking forward to getting to know your child a little bit more!
Thank you, Mrs. Rosburg
