Special Education Programs

Prairie Crossing offers a variety of Special Education services including  Learning Services, Speech Language Services, Health Services, Mental Health Services and Occupational Therapy.  These services are provided through our mild /moderate department or our center-based affective needs program.


Mild/Moderate Special Education Department:

This programming assists students in developing skills and learning behaviors which enable him/her to benefit from the general education program, even with the challenges presented by their disability. Programming offers support in the learning content area or language processing area which makes learning in the conventional sense, difficult. Delivery of service is through collaboration (team teaching), consultation, differentiated instruction, materials modification, small group instruction and/or direct instruction within the special education setting.

Currently our staff consists of 3 Learning Specialists, a full time school psychologists, part time Social worker, 2 full time Speech Language Pathologist and it occupational therapist.
